Chiropractic is a philosophy of health care that dates back to the ancient Greeks. In 1895 Daniel David Palmer advanced chiropractic to a science. He used spinal manipulations, or adjustments, as treatment to correct spinal related disorders. Modern Chiropractic bases health care on maintaining the free motion of the spine and other joints of the body.

An accident, a sudden off-balance movement or even bad posture can strain or tear the many, delicate ligaments and muscles that surround and support a joint. This results in immobilization of the joint.

Dr. Friedrichs uses a chiropractic technique called Motion Palpation. This is a safe and painless, in-office, testing procedure. He will be seated behind you and use one hand to move your spine through its range of motion. The other hand will press against each vertebra. This allows him to locate the exact joint that is not moving freely. Once this fixation is located, treatment will begin.

If inflammation and swelling are present, ice or physical therapeutic measures may be used along with various pressure manipulations, called adjustments. This will help restore proper mobility to the involved areas. The adjustments will bring relief from the pain you are feeling.

STATE is the description of mental focus.

ENERGY is the flow of the body’s energy and the energy resistance causing the symptom.

REMEDY is the repair of the body’s energy flow. The repair may involve either the body’s nervous system, meridian system, nutritional balance or all three.

Problems in the musculo-skeletal system can impede the natural healing process, and often cause dysfunction and pain. It is important to treat soft tissues such as muscles and tendons to help prevent and correct spinal problems as well as to help decrease the accompanying pain. Together, chiropractic adjustments and massage provide you with a more complete and effective system of health care.

Therapeutic Massage:

Increases the effectiveness of chiropractic treatments.
Helps relieve pain in muscles and related soft tissues.
Helps prevent future problems.
Offers relief from the negative effects of stress.
Improves circulation and relaxes the muscle tissue.

The use of nutritional supplements can play a big part in the healing process. Dr. Friedrichs recommends supplements that come from companies which use the best sources of vitamins and minerals. These companies grow crops on certified organic farmland, utilizing exclusive manufacturing processes and using exemplary quality control standards.

Dr. Friedrichs will aid patients with a nutritional regimen that fits their personal needs and life style. Individual attention is given to patients who may want to add supplements to their diet.
